Welcome to the Michiana Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America!
Our chapter serves members in western lower Michigan and northern Indiana.
Our purpose
as a chapter is rather simple... to promote interest in motoring; to organize
and conduct touring activities; to encourage safe
and skillful driving; to offer classes, disseminate information, produce
various publications, and generally promote activities related to motor
touring. Our vehicles of choice are made by BMW. And we have a good deal of fun
along the way!
If you are
not currently a BMW CCA member, please consider joining, whether or not you own or drive a
BMW. (But if you do decide a Bimmer would look
good in your driveway, we can even help you find a
nearby dealer!)
Your comments and suggestions are always
welcomed... as is your participation in any of our activities.
Don’t
forget to join our chapter e-mail group to stay connected with whats going on
with the Michiana Chapter!

2007 Fall Color
Tour Report.
Wow!!! What an incredible event. The turn out for this
years color tour was unbelieveable !! Over 90 people and something like 45 cars showed up.
We had quite a diverse array of models present as well, new and old 3ers,
5ers 6ers and a dozen or so m-cars. The rows of BMWs looked like a big event
you read about in Roundel, it must have been quite a sight for onlookers to
see all the BMWS assembled together.
Many people asked how I came up with the route. It was easy really. I knew
that Kent County had three covered bridges that
were relatively close and I wanted to make that my theme. It was just a
matter of finding scenic roads to link them up. The idea for using the
apple orchard as a starting point came from last years color tour where
we visited one and it went over well. Robinettes
also had a very ideal location to start from. I got the idea of visiting
Grattan Raceway from a previous event where we all met at Gingerman.
I knew Grattan was in the area and I asked Steve Adsmond a
fellow club member if he could help me out with this. For awhile it looked
like we were not going to be able to do it but Steve’s persistence paid
off and we were able to work it into the tour. I think that was probably the
highlight of the event as we were able to go single file at a speed deemed
"as comfortable yet prudent as you like" Like many I have never had
my bimmer on a track before and what a great track.
I now have inclinations to do some driving schools where I might get to do
some laps at speed. I picked Bostwick Lake
Inn as our restaurant as it was also in the area and I had heard good things
about it. They were very accomodating to a party of
our size and I appreciated that. I also want to thank Bob Colburn for
his help with this project. He directed me to the proper channels for getting
the newsletter out, the website updated and getting deposit money to the
restaurant and I thank all those people as well. And I thank everyone that
came, you all coming was the reason it was so successful. What a great
chapter we have and here’s to many more great
events.
