BMW Terminology 101

This is a BIMMER (BMW cars are called "Bimmers")

These are BEEMERS (BMW motorcycles are called "Beemers")

The next time you fly, look for a BMW Roundel logo on the engine of the aircraft. The Boeing Company selected a pair of quiet, clean-burning BMW Rolls-Royce BR715 turbofan engines to power its entire fleet of Boeing 717-200 jetliners. The German-made high-bypass-ratio engines deliver up to 21,000 pounds of takeoff thrust, with lower fuel consumption, reduced exhaust emissions and significantly lower noise levels than the power plants of comparable airplanes. BMW/Rolls-Royce builds the advanced BR715 engines in Dahlewitz, Germany.
